Spit braai hire in Cape Town suits anyone who wants the equipment without the catering. We hire out motorised spits by the day, and the more popular option is our meat-only tier at R140 per person, where the lamb arrives spitted, rubbed and basted and all you do is keep the coals going.

A whole lamb takes between four and six hours over coals and needs someone watching it for that entire time. Hiring makes sense if you have a person who wants that job. If you do not, the Classic menu at R165 per person puts a chef on the fire for R25 a head more than the meat-only rate.
